• DAY 115: Sad 1-11

   Ṣãd. By the Quran, full of reminders! (This is the truth,) yet the disbelievers are (entrenched) in arrogance and opposition. (Imagine) how many peoples We destroyed before them, and they cried out when it was too late to escape. Now, the pagans are astonished that a warner has come to them from among themselves. And the disbelievers say, “This is a magician, a total liar! Has he reduced (all) the gods to One God? Indeed, this is something totally astonishing.” The chiefs among them went forth saying, “Carry on, and stand firm in devotion to your gods. Certainly this is just a scheme (for power). We have never heard of this in the previous faith. This is nothing but a fabrication. Has the Reminder been revealed (only) to him out of (all of) us?” In fact, they are (only) in doubt of My (revealed) Reminder. In fact, (they do so because) they have not yet tasted My punishment. Or (is it because) they possess the treasuries of the mercy of your Lord—the Almighty, the Giver (of all bounties). Or (is it because) the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and everything in between belongs to them? Let them then climb their way (to heaven, if their claim is true). This is just another (enemy) force bound for defeat out there.

  1. The Qur’an as a Divine Reminder
      "Ṣād" is one of the disjointed letters (ḥurūf muqaṭṭa’ah) at the beginning of some Surahs, whose full meaning is known only to Allah.
      The Qur’an is described as a "reminder" (dhikr), emphasizing its role in guiding humanity.
  2. Arrogance & Denial of the Disbelievers
      The disbelievers are characterized by pride (kibr) and division (shiqāq).
      They mock the Prophet (sav), calling him a "magician" or "liar", just as past nations rejected their prophets.
      Historical destruction of earlier nations (e.g., ‘Ād, Thamud) is mentioned as a warning.
  3. Rejection of Tawheed (Oneness of God)
      The polytheists find it strange that the Prophet (sav) calls them to worship One God (Tawheed).
      Their leaders insist on sticking to idol worship, calling Islam an innovation (though it is the original truth).
  4. Divine Challenge to the Disbelievers
      Allah mocks their arrogance: Do they possess His mercy or control the heavens and earth?
      The disbelievers are warned that they are merely a defeatable army, just like past nations who opposed divine truth.
  
  Truth prevails over arrogance, and those who reject divine guidance—like countless nations before them—face inevitable defeat.
