• DAY 146: A'raf 154-157

   And when the anger of Mûsâ (Moses) was calmed down, he took up the Tablets; and in their inscription was guidance and mercy for those who fear their Lord. And Mûsâ (Moses) chose out of his people seventy (of the best) men for Our appointed time and place of meeting, and when they were seized with a violent earthquake, he said: "O my Lord, if it had been Your Will, You could have destroyed them and me before; would You destroy us for the deeds of the foolish ones among us? It is only Your Trial by which You lead astray whom You will, and keep guided whom You will. You are our Walî (Protector), so forgive us and have Mercy on us: for You are the Best of those who forgive. Grant us good things in this world and in the life to come. We turn to You." God said, "I bring My punishment on whoever I will, but My mercy encompasses all things.  And so I shall confer it on those who are conscious of Me and spend in charity,
  and who believe in Our messages; They are˺ the ones who follow the Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whose description they find in their Torah and the Gospel. He commands them to do good and forbids them from evil, permits for them what is lawful and forbids to them what is impure, and relieves them from their burdens and the shackles that bound them. ˹Only˺ those who believe in him, honour and support him, and follow the light sent down to him will be successful.”

  The Tablets of Guidance & Mercy
      After the golden calf incident, Musa (AS) calms down and retrieves the shattered tablets (symbolizing renewal of covenant).    The tablets contain Allah’s guidance and mercy—highlighting that divine law is a blessing for the righteous.
   Even after sin, Allah’s mercy is available to those who repent and uphold His commands.
  The Seventy Elders & Musa’s Intercession
      Musa (AS) selects 70 leaders to seek Allah’s forgiveness, but they are struck by an earthquake for lingering doubts.    Musa (AS) pleads for mercy, arguing:     "Why punish us for the foolish ones’ actions?"
          "This is Your test—You guide whom You will."
  Leadership carries responsibility; trials separate the sincere from the hypocrites.
  The Dua for Worldly & Hereafter Good
      The Israelites ask Allah for blessings in both worlds.   Allah responds:   Punishment is for the defiant.      Mercy is for the righteous, givers of zakah, and believers in His signs.
   True success combines faith, charity, and obedience.
  The Prophecy of Muhammad (sav)
      Allah foretells the coming of the "unlettered Prophet" (Muhammad )—mentioned in the Torah & Gospel.   His mission:     Command good, forbid evil.        Remove burdens (e.g., excessive Jewish restrictions).
          Grant purity (halal) and abolish impurity (haram).   Promise: Those who follow him will attain success.
   Muhammad (sav) is the universal mercy prophesied in earlier scriptures.
  
  After their rebellion, the Israelites were given another chance through Musa’s intercession, while Allah’s ultimate mercy was promised to those who would follow the final Prophet —the one foretold to bring light and ease to humanity.
