• DAY 283: Hijr 26-44

   Indeed, We created man from sounding clay moulded from black mud. As for the jinn, We created them earlier from smokeless fire. ˹Remember, O  Prophet˺ when your Lord said to the angels, “I am going to create a human being from sounding clay moulded from black mud. So when I have fashioned him and had a spirit of My Own ˹creation˺ breathed into him, fall down in prostration to him.” So the angels prostrated all together— but not Iblîs, who refused to prostrate with the others. Allah asked, “O Iblîs! What is the matter with you that you did not join others in prostration?” He replied, “It is not for me to prostrate to a human You created from sounding clay moulded from black mud.” Allah commanded, “Then get out of here, for you are truly cursed. And surely upon you is condemnation until the Day of Judgment.” Satan appealed, “My Lord! Then delay my end until the Day of their resurrection.” Allah said, “You will be delayed until the appointed Day.” Satan responded, “My Lord! For allowing me to stray I will surely tempt them on earth and mislead them all together, except Your chosen servants among them.” Allah said, “This is the Way, binding on Me: you will certainly have no authority over My servants, except the deviant who follow you, and surely Hell is their destined place, all together. It has seven gates, to each a group of them is designated.”

      The Honor of Humanity: Humans were created with a special status, honored by Allah with His spirit.
      The Primacy of Obedience: The core of faith is submission to Divine Command, without arrogance.
      The Origin of Evil: Satan's rebellion was rooted solely in arrogance (Kibr) regarding his origin.
      The Purpose of Life: Life is a test, made possible by Satan's respite, to see who will follow Allah and who will follow their desires, beautified by Satan.
      Divine Protection: Sincere believers are protected from Satan's overwhelming authority; they cannot be misled unless they choose to be.
      Ultimate Justice: Hell is the guaranteed destination for Satan's followers, with punishments meticulously assigned. 
          The jealousy of Yusuf's brothers is a microcosm and a direct consequence of the macrocosmic jealousy of Iblis.
      Iblis is the template for the jealous individual. He whispers into the hearts of men, inciting the same feelings of superiority, entitlement, and hatred that he himself felt.
      By placing the story of Iblis (in Al-Hijr) after the detailed story of Yusuf, the Quranic compilation is teaching us: Whenever you see jealousy, betrayal, or arrogance in this world, know that it is a manifestation of the same rebellion that Iblis first committed. 
      The jealousy that ignited the story of Yusuf (AS) in the human realm finds its origin in the cosmic jealousy of Iblis, who first rebelled out of arrogance when Adam was honored.
