• DAY 68: Najm 19-25

   Now, have you considered ˹the idols of˺ Lât and ’Uzza, and the third one, Manât, as well? Do you (prefer to) have sons while (you attribute) to Him daughters? Then this is (truly) a bizarre division. These (idols) are mere names that you and your forefathers have made up—a practice Allah has never authorized. They follow nothing but (inherited) assumptions and whatever (their) souls desire, although (true) guidance has already come to them from their Lord. Is it that man can get whatever he wishes? In fact, to Allah (alone) belongs this world and the next.

      Critique of Idolatry:
          These verses directly challenge the polytheists’ worship of idols, exposing the irrationality and baselessness of their beliefs.
          They highlight the futility of worshipping man-made deities that have no power or authority.
      The Oneness of Allah (Tawhid):
          The verses emphasize that Allah alone is the Creator and Sustainer of all things, and He alone deserves worship.
          They reject the polytheists’ false attribution of divinity to created beings.
      The Importance of Divine Guidance:
          The verses criticize the polytheists for following their assumptions and desires instead of the guidance sent by Allah.
          They remind believers to base their beliefs and actions on divine revelation rather than personal or cultural biases.
      The Ultimate Sovereignty of Allah:
          The verses affirm that Allah has complete control over both this world and the Hereafter.
          They serve as a reminder that all power and authority belong to Him alone.
      A Call to Reflection and Reform:
          These verses invite the polytheists (and all readers) to reflect on the absurdity of their beliefs and to turn to the truth of Allah’s oneness.
          They challenge individuals to abandon falsehood and embrace the guidance of Allah.
