Saf 2-3:

•  Ey iman edenler, niçin yapmadığınız/yapamayacağınız şeyleri (yapmış/yapacakmış gibi) söylüyorsunuz? Böyle söylemeniz Allah(cc) katında ağır sonuçları olan nahoş davranışlardandır.

  Lafzen,  “yapmayacağınız  şeyi  niçin  söylersiniz?”  Bu  ifade,  ilk  bakışta,  daha  önce Allah  ve  Elçisi  yolunda  canlarını  vermeye  hazır  olduklarını  iddia  ettikleri  halde Uhud'da mevzilerinden bozgun halinde geri çekilen (bkz.  sûre 3, not 90) Hz. Pey- gamber'in arkadaşlarına  bir  işaret olarak görülebilir.  Ancak daha  geniş  anlamıyla bu  pasaj,  İlahî  kelâmın teşvik  ve  telkin  ettiği  her şeyi  hayata  geçirmek  istedikle­rini iddia eden,  ama sonra bu kararlılıklarında zaaf gösteren herkese hitab etmek­tedir.ESED
  
  The second and third verses of Surah As-Saff (61:2-3) actually read:
  Verse 2: "O you who have believed, why do you say that which you do not do?"
