Fetih 11-12:

The word "بُورًا" (būrān) is often used to describe individuals who have temporarily strayed from the right path, but still have the potential to return to the path of righteousness. They may have lost their way due to ignorance, weakness, or temptation, but they are not yet entirely lost or beyond redemption.
In Islamic theology, "بُورًا" implies a sense of "waywardness" or "errancy" rather than complete apostasy or irredeemable corruption. It's a state of being lost or misguided, but not necessarily beyond the reach of God's mercy and guidance.
In this sense, "بُورًا" is often contrasted with "ضال" (ḍāl), which implies a more complete and intentional rejection of the truth, often accompanied by arrogance, obstinacy, or deliberate disobedience. The latter term is often used to describe those who have deliberately rejected God's guidance and are less likely to return to the right path.
So, in the context of Quran 48:12, "بُورًا" is used to describe the believers who had temporarily lost their way due to fear, doubt, and uncertainty, but were still capable of returning to the path of faith and obedience.LLAMA3-70B
