  • DAY 423: Sajdah 1 - 17

Alif-Lãm-Mĩm. The revelation of this Book is—beyond doubt—from the Lord of all worlds. Or do they say, “He has fabricated it!”? No! It is the truth from your Lord in order for you to warn a people to whom no warner has come before you, so they may be ˹rightly˺ guided. It is Allah Who has created the heavens and the earth and everything in between in six Days, then established Himself on the Throne. You have no protector or intercessor besides Him. Will you not then be mindful? He conducts every affair from the heavens to the earth, then it all ascends to Him on a Day whose length is a thousand years by your counting. That is the Knower of the seen and unseen—the Almighty, Most Merciful, Who has perfected everything He created. And He originated the creation of humankind from clay. Then He made his descendants from an extract of a humble fluid, then He fashioned them and had a spirit of His Own ˹creation˺ breathed into them. And He gave you hearing, sight, and intellect. ˹Yet˺ you hardly give any thanks. ˹Still˺ they ask ˹mockingly˺, “When we are disintegrated into the earth, will we really be raised as a new creation?” In fact, they are in denial of the meeting with their Lord. Say, “The angel of death who has been assigned for you will take your soul in full, then you will be brought back to your Lord.” And (you will wonder) if you see the sinners hanging their heads before their Lord (and saying,) “Our Lord, we have now seen and heard, so send us back, and we will do righteous deeds. Surely, (now) we are believers.” And if We had so willed, We would have led everybody to his right path (by force), but the word from Me had come to pass: “I will certainly fill the Jahannam with jinn and human beings together.” So, have a taste, because you had forgotten the meeting of this day of yours. We have forgotten you; and taste the eternal punishment for what you used to do. Only those people believe in Our verses who, when they are reminded of them, fall in prostration and pronounce the purity and praise of their Lord, and who do not wax proud. They abandon their beds, invoking their Lord with hope and fear, and donate from what We have provided for them. So, no one knows the delight of eyes that has been reserved for them in secret, as a reward of what they used to do.

The divine origin of the Quran, the reality of Tawhid (the Oneness of God), and the certainty of the Resurrection and Judgment. The passage contrasts the believers, who submit to God's message, with the disbelievers, who arrogantly reject it. It serves as a powerful call to reflection, urging humanity to look at the natural world and their own creation as signs of God's power.
Source of Quran: It is undoubtedly a revelation from God, not a fabrication (1-3).
        God's Power:
He created the heavens, earth, and humanity in a perfect progression, giving us senses and intellect (4-9).
        The Argument:
Disbelievers doubt the resurrection. They are warned they will be taken by death and returned to God (10-11).
        The Two Ends:
Sinners: On Judgment Day, they will beg to return to earth, but it will be too late. They will taste the punishment (12-14).
            Believers:
They worship humbly, pray at night, and give charity. Their reward in Paradise is so beautiful that no human mind can imagine it (15-17).

The Quran is God's undeniable truth, calling on humanity to worship Him alone by reflecting on His creation and preparing for the Day of Judgment, where believers will receive an unimaginable reward and disbelievers will face the consequences of their arrogance.
