DAY 523: Ali 'Imran 172-180
- ˹As for˺ those who responded to the
call of Allah and His Messenger after their injury, those of them who
did good and were mindful ˹of Allah˺ will have a great reward. Those
who were warned, “Your enemies have mobilized their forces against
you, so fear them,” the warning only made them grow stronger in faith
and they replied, “Allah ˹alone˺ is sufficient ˹as an aid˺ for us and
˹He˺ is the best Protector.” So they returned with Allah’s favours and
grace, suffering no harm. For
they sought to please Allah. And surely Allah is ˹the˺ Lord of infinite
bounty. That ˹warning˺ was only ˹from˺ Satan, trying to prompt you to
fear his followers. So do not fear them; fear Me if you are ˹true˺
believers. Those who hasten towards disbelief should not make you
grieve. They
cannot harm Allah at all. Allah intends not to spare for them any share
in the Hereafter. For them there is a mighty punishment. Those who trade
belief for disbelief will never harm Allah in the least, and they will
suffer a painful punishment. Those who disbelieve should not think that
living longer is good for
them. They are only given more time to increase in sin, and they will
suffer a humiliating punishment. Allah would not leave the believers in
the condition you were in, until
He distinguished the good from the evil ˹among you˺. Nor would Allah
˹directly˺ reveal to you the unseen, but
He chooses whoever He wills as a messenger. So believe in Allah and His
messengers. And if you are faithful and mindful ˹of Allah˺, you will
receive a great reward. And do not let those who ˹greedily˺ withhold
Allah’s bounties think it
is good for them—in fact, it is bad for them! They will be leashed ˹by
their necks˺ on the Day of Judgment with whatever ˹wealth˺ they used to
withhold. And Allah is the ˹sole˺ inheritor of the heavens and the
earth. And Allah is All-Aware of what you do.

Now the Quran spotlights those who rose after trauma to pursue the enemy, exposes Satan's fear tactics, warns against envying the disbelievers' temporary ease, and ends with a severe warning about greed—because the root of the Uhud disobedience was love of spoils. The passage is a complete cycle: courage, fear, patience, and detachment from wealth.
Verses 172-174: The Heroes of Hamra al-Asad
Wounded at Uhud, yet they answered the Prophet's call to pursue the enemy. Warned of a gathering army, they only grew in faith and said, "Sufficient for us is Allah." They returned unharmed with God's favor and bounty.
Verse 175: The Strategy of Satan
Satan only frightens you with his allies. So don't fear them—fear Me, if you truly believe.
Verses 176-177: Those Who Race to Disbelief
Don't grieve over those rushing into disbelief. They harm God not at all. They traded faith for disbelief—a painful punishment awaits.
Verses 178-179: The Deceptive Respite and the Test
Their worldly ease is not mercy—it's God letting them pile up sins. God will separate the impure from the pure among you through trials. Believe and fear God, and a great reward is yours.
Verse 180: The Greed of the Withholders
Stinginess with God's bounty is not good—it's evil. Hoarded wealth will choke them on Judgment Day. God owns everything and sees all.
The wounded who still answered the call proved that Satan's fear tactics collapse when you say "Allah is enough," so don't grieve over those racing to disbelief or envy their temporary respite—it's only piling up sins, trials separate the pure from the impure, and hoarded wealth will choke its owners on Judgment Day, for God owns everything and sees all.
