DAY 527: Ahzab 1 -8
- O Prophet, fear Allah and do not obey
the disbelievers and the hypocrites. Surely Allah is All-Knowing,
All-Wise. Follow what is revealed to you from your Lord. Surely Allah is
All-Aware of what you do; and place your trust in Allah. Allah is
enough as a guardian. Allah does not place two hearts in any person’s
chest. Nor does He
regard your wives as ˹unlawful for you like˺ your real mothers, ˹even˺
if you say they are. Nor does He regard your adopted children as your
real children. These are only your baseless assertions. But Allah
declares the truth, and He ˹alone˺ guides to the ˹Right˺ Way. Let your
adopted children keep their family names. That is more just in
the sight of Allah. But if you do not know their fathers, then they are
˹simply˺ your fellow believers and close associates. There is no blame
on you for what you do by mistake, but ˹only˺ for what you do
intentionally. And Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful. The Prophet is
more worthy of the believers than themselves, and his wives are [in
the position of] their mothers. And those of
[blood] relationship are more entitled [to inheritance] in the decree of
Allāh than the [other] believers and the emigrants, except that you may
do to your close associates a kindness [through bequest]. That was in
the Book inscribed. And ˹remember˺ when We took a covenant from the
prophets, as well as
from you ˹O Prophet˺, and from Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus, son of
Mary. We did take a solemn covenant from ˹all of˺ them so that He may
question these men of truth about their ˹delivery of the˺
truth. And He has prepared a painful punishment for the disbelievers.
(
Verses 1–3: The Prophet's personal conduct—fear God, ignore enemies, follow revelation, and trust Allah.
Verses 4–5: Social reform—abolishing false kinship (adoption as legal paternity) and establishing biological truth and justice.
Verse 6: The true hierarchy of relationships—the Prophet's spiritual authority over believers, his wives as mothers, and blood ties as the basis for inheritance.
Verses 7–8: The cosmic, historical anchor—all prophets are bound by a heavy covenant of monotheism and truth-telling, and that truth will be examined on the final day, separating the truthful from the liars.
These 8 verses seamlessly weave theology, law, sociology, and eschatology. Allah is not just giving random rules; He is dismantling the tribal, honor-based culture of pre-Islamic Arabia and replacing it with a truth-based, God-centered society where:
Loyalty is to God, not to tribal pressure.
Kinship is biological, not contractual (protecting women's rights, inheritance, and marital law).
The Prophet's authority is absolute because his message is divine.
Every human being—from Noah to Muhammad—operates under one divine covenant: to speak the truth and uphold justice.
God commands the Prophet to rely solely on divine revelation over all opposition, while fundamentally restructuring Arab society around biological truth and spiritual fidelity—culminating in the solemn prophetic covenant that will hold every soul accountable for their honesty on Judgment Day.
