  • DAY 550: Nisa 71-79

    •  O believers! Take your precautions and go forth either in groups or together. There will be some among you who will lag behind so that if you face a disaster, they will say, “Allah has blessed us for not being there among them.” But if you return with Allah’s bounties, they will say—as if there had been no bond between you—“We wish we had been there with them to share the great gain!” Let those who would sacrifice this life for the Hereafter fight in the cause of Allah. And whoever fights in Allah’s cause—whether they achieve martyrdom or victory—We will honour them with a great reward. And what is it with you? You do not fight in the cause of Allah and for oppressed men, women, and children who cry out, “Our Lord! Deliver us from this land of oppressors! Appoint for us a saviour; appoint for us a helper—all by Your grace.” Believers fight for the cause of Allah, whereas disbelievers fight for the cause of the Devil. So fight against Satan’s ˹evil˺ forces. Indeed, Satan’s schemes are ever weak. Have you not seen those to whom it was said, “Hold your hands (from fighting) and be steadfast in Salāh and pay Zakāh.” However, when fighting is enjoined upon them, then surprisingly, a group from them starts fearing people, as one would fear Allah, or fearing even more. They say, “Our Lord, why have you enjoined fighting upon us? Would you have not spared us for a little more time?” Say, “The enjoyment of the world is but a little, and the Hereafter is far better for the one who fears Allah, and you shall not be wronged, even to the measure of a fiber. Wherever you will be, Death will overtake you, even though you are in fortified castles.” If some good comes to them, they say, “This is from Allah.” But if some evil visits them, they say, “This is from you.” Say, “All is from Allah.” So, what is wrong with these people, they do not seem to understand anything? Whatever good befalls you is from Allah and whatever evil befalls you is from yourself. We have sent you ˹O Prophet˺ as a messenger to ˹all˺ people. And Allah is sufficient as a Witness.

This block is a battlefield reality check. After exposing hypocrisy and establishing the standard of true faith, God now addresses the practical challenges of living in a hostile world. It covers:
          Military preparedness and vigilance
Hypocrites who hold back from fighting
The real motives behind their excuses
The contrast between worldly gain and eternal reward
The ultimate truth: good and bad both come from God
(After covering family, marriage, inheritance, and conflict resolution, God now expands the circle of responsibility to everyone in society—especially the most vulnerable, the overlooked, and the marginalized.)
71    Take precautions and go forth in companies or all together    Vigilance and preparation are part of faith.
72    Hypocrites hold back from fighting and thank God when disaster strikes others    Cowardice disguised as piety is hypocrisy.
73    Hypocrites regret not being present when there's profit    Their loyalty is to worldly gain, not the cause.
74    True believers trade this life for the Hereafter; they win whether they live or die    The mindset of the believer: you can't lose when you fight for God.
75    Fight for the oppressed who cry out for liberation    The cause of justice is a divine cause.
76    Believers fight in God's cause; disbelievers fight in taghut's cause    There are only two sides. Choose clearly.
77    The ones who avoid fighting are afraid of people, not God; this life is short, the Hereafter is eternal    Fear of death is misplaced. The Hereafter is worth more.
78    Death catches you anywhere, even in fortified towers; the hypocrites blame the Prophet for bad and God for good    You can't outrun death. Stop blaming others for your problems.
79    Good comes from God; bad comes from yourself; the Prophet is just a messenger    Be grateful for good. Take responsibility for bad.

Be vigilant and ready to defend the oppressed, don't hide from hardship while chasing worldly gain, and remember that death finds you everywhere—so trade this fleeting life for the Hereafter, take responsibility for your own failures, and thank God for every success.
