DAY 559: Nisa 135-143
- O believers! Stand firm for justice as
witnesses for Allah even if it is
against yourselves, your parents, or close relatives. Be they rich or
poor, Allah is best to ensure their interests. So do not let your
desires cause you to deviate ˹from justice˺. If you distort the
testimony or refuse to give it, then ˹know that˺ Allah is certainly
All-Aware of what you do. O believers! Have faith in Allah, His
Messenger, the Book He has
revealed to His Messenger, and the Scriptures He revealed before.
Indeed, whoever denies Allah, His angels, His Books, His messengers, and
the Last Day has clearly gone far astray. Indeed, those who believed
then disbelieved, then believed and again
disbelieved—˹only˺ increasing in disbelief—Allah will neither forgive
them nor guide them to the ˹Right˺ Way. Give good news of a painful
punishment to hypocrites, who choose disbelievers as allies instead of
the believers. Do they seek
honour and power through that company? Surely all honour and power
belongs to Allah. He has already revealed to you in the Book that when you hear Allah’s revelations being denied or ridiculed, then do not sit in that company unless they engage in a different topic, or else you will be like them. Surely Allah will gather the hypocrites and disbelievers all together in Hell. ˹The hypocrites are˺ those who wait to see what happens to you. So if Allah grants you victory, they say ˹to you˺, “Were we not on your side?” But if the disbelievers have a share ˹of victory˺, they say ˹to them˺, “Did we not have the advantage over you, yet we protected you from the believers?” Allah will judge between ˹all of˺ you on the Day of Judgment. And Allah will never grant the disbelievers a way over the believers. Surely the hypocrites seek to deceive Allah, but He outwits them. When they stand up for prayer, they do it half-heartedly only to be seen by people—hardly remembering Allah at all. Torn between belief and disbelief—belonging neither to these ˹believers˺ nor those ˹disbelievers˺. And whoever Allah leaves to stray, you will never find for them a way.
(
--The command to stand firm for justice—even against yourself, your family, or the rich and powerful
--The danger of following desires and deviating from the truth
--The exposure of the hypocrites who claim belief but are actually aligned with the enemies of God
--The inner state of the hypocrites—swaying between two sides, unable to commit
--The ultimate warning: the hypocrites will be in the lowest depths of Hell
135 Stand firm for justice, even against yourself, parents, or relatives; don't follow desires Justice is absolute—loyalty to truth, not tribe
136 Believe in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, and the Last Day Faith is a complete package—no picking and choosing
137 Those who flip-flop in faith—believing, disbelieving, believing again—will not be forgiven Insincerity seals the heart
138 The hypocrites have a painful punishment awaiting them Hypocrisy is worse than open disbelief
139 Those who ally with disbelievers seeking honor—all honor belongs to God Real power is with God, not the enemies of truth
140 Don't sit with those who mock God's verses—leave or you become like them Protect your faith—don't endorse mockery
141 The hypocrites claim loyalty to whoever wins; God will judge between them Don't be two-faced—commit to the truth
142 Hypocrites pray lazily and for show—their hearts are empty Prayer is for God, not for people's approval
143 Hypocrites sway between two sides—they belong to no one Indecision and lack of commitment destroy you
Stand firm for justice even against yourself and your family, believe in all of God's revelation, and never ally with the hypocrites who mock the truth—because they are two-faced, praying for show, swaying between faith and disbelief, and they will end up in the lowest depths of Hell.
