İbrahim 52:
- Bu, bütün insanlara açık ve net bir mesajdır ve kendi çıkarları için dikkate alsalar iyi olur, ve bilsinler ki tek ilah Allah(cc)'tır. Ayrıca, gerçek akıl ve idrak sahiplerine (أُوْلُواْ الأَلْبَابِ) de düşünüp ders almaları için bir fırsattır.
(اَلَبَّ عَلَی الْاَمْرِ “ ” (al-abba ala al-amr): remained steadfast on something and did not give it up.L-B-B ل ب ب
رَجُلٌ لبٌَّ “ ” (rajulun labb): a man who continues to be engaged in his work and does not give up.
اَللَّبُّ “ ” (al-lab): to be steadfast on something.
اَلبََّ باِلْمَکَانِ “ ” (allabba bilmakaan): he stayed at so and so place {T}.
Ibn Faris says it basically means to remain collected and to be with, as well as to be pure and pleasant.
لَبَّيْکَ “ ” (labbaika): I consider being faithful to you as mandatory for me. I owe allegiance to you.
Some say that it is derived from “ دَارِیْ تَلُبُّ دَارَ هٗ ” (daari talubbu daarah), i.e. “my house is facing his”.
Therefore “ ا لَبَّيْکَ ” (labbaika) means “my face is towards you” {T}.
لُبٌّ “ ” (lubb): the pure part of anything, or the kernel.
لَبَّ اللَّوْزَ “ ” (lubbal lauz): he broke an almond (shell) and took out its kernel {T}.
اللَّبَبُ “ ” (al-labab): part of the chest on which a necklace is worn {T}.
اَللبُّ “ُّ ” (al-lubb): intellect. The plural is “ اَلْباَبٌ ” (al-baab).
Muheet says that this word is derived from the Syrian word “ لبُِوْ ” (libu) or Hebrew word “ لِبْ ” (lib) which
mean “the heart”. In Arabic the heart is called “ُّ اَللُّب ” (al-lub) because it is covered (like an almond - kernel within a shell) with fat.
Raghib says that “ لُبٌّ ” (lubb) means sharp intellect which is pure and free from any adulteration, i.e. which is free of emotions, which is not subservient to emotions.
The Quran says:
3:189 for men of understanding اُو لِیْ الْا لْبَابِ
These are people who do not make the intellect subservient to their emotions and make their mind t work in the light of the revelation. Thus their intellect is used for the good of others. The selfish intellect shows man the way of attaining personal gains, and the intellect directed by the guidance of the revelation shows
him the way to universal nourishment and development i.e. for the good of mankind (13:17). That is why the Quran has said after “ اُولِی الْاَلْبَابِ ” (oolil albaab) i.e. “ ا لَّذِيْنَ يَذْکُرُوْنَ لٰلهَّ۔۔ ” (allazeena yazkurunallah) in (3:189-190), i.e. “those intelligent people who keep the revelation in their mind all the time”.
A momin’s duty is to employ the intellect in the light of the revelation. If any of these things are missing then he cannot be called a momin.LUQ
