  DAY 505: Ali 'Imran 10-20

  • Indeed, neither the wealth nor children of the disbelievers will be of any benefit to them against Allah—and they will be the fuel for the Fire.  Their fate will be like that of the people of Pharaoh and those before them—they all rejected Our signs, so Allah seized them for their sins. And Allah is severe in punishment. Say to those who disbelieve: “You shall soon be overcome and shall be gathered into Hell. Indeed, it is an evil bed (in which) to rest.” Indeed, there was a sign for you in the two armies that met in battle—one fighting for the cause of Allah and the other in denial. The believers saw their enemy twice their number. But Allah supports with His victory whoever He wills. Surely in this is a lesson for people of insight. The enjoyment of ˹worldly˺ desires—women, children, treasures of gold and silver, fine horses, cattle, and fertile land—has been made appealing to people. These are the pleasures of this worldly life, but with Allah is the finest destination. Say: “Shall I tell you what is far better than that? For those who fear (Allah), there are gardens with their Lord, beneath which rivers flow, where they shall live forever, with purified wives, and approval from Allah. Allah is watchful over His servants”. Those (are the ones) who say: “Our Lord, surely we have believed, so forgive us our sins and save us from the punishment of the Fire,” (and those who are) the patient, the truthful and the devout, who spend (in Allah’s way) and who seek forgiveness in pre-dawn hours.” Allah ˹Himself˺ is a Witness that there is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him—and so are the angels and people of knowledge. He is the Maintainer of justice. There is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him—the Almighty, All-Wise. Certainly, Allah’s only Way is Islam (  i.e., full submission to the Will of Allah.). Those who were given the Scripture did not dispute ˹among themselves˺ out of mutual envy until knowledge came to them. Whoever denies Allah’s signs, then surely Allah is swift in reckoning. Then, if they argue with you, say: “I have submitted myself to Allah, and (so did) those who have followed me.” And say to those who have been given the Book, and to the unlettered: “Do you submit?” If they submit, they will be on the right path. Yet, if they turn back, then you have only to convey the message. Allah is watchful over (all of) His servants.

    Verses 10-11: The Bankrupt Disbeliever
    Wealth and children—the ultimate worldly safety nets—will be worthless on Judgment Day, unable to shield anyone from God. The disbelievers won't just be punished; they'll become the very fuel of the Fire. This isn't a new script but the exact fate of Pharaoh and his like: they denied God's clear signs, so He seized them with devastating force. The law of divine justice doesn't bend.
    Verses 12-13: The Two Lessons for the Rejectors
    A double prophecy lands hard: defeat in this life, then being herded into Hell in the next. The proof is already visible in the Battle of Badr, where a tiny, outgunned army of believers miraculously crushed a superior force because God threw a psychological illusion into enemy eyes, making the believers appear double their size. The point is razor-sharp: victory isn't a math equation of strength; God grants it to whom He wills, and only those with real vision will absorb the lesson.
    Verses 14-15: The Dazzling Trap vs. The Ultimate Promise
    Everything humanity craves—spouses, children, hoarded gold, status horses, fertile land—is deliberately "beautified" as a seductive test. Then comes the brutal, dismissive verdict: it's just the fleeting junk of worldly life, nothing more. The real deal is infinitely better: eternal gardens, flowing rivers, perfectly purified spouses, and towering above it all, the ultimate prize—God's own approval and good pleasure. That's the relationship that dwarfs every physical reward.
    Verses 16-17: The Portrait of the Promised
    The ones who qualify for this aren't angels; they're people who constantly whisper a desperate prayer for forgiveness and protection. Their character is a mosaic: unshakably patient under pressure, totally truthful inside and out, humbly obedient, generous with their wealth. But the secret gem, the mark of their sincerity, is dragging themselves out of warm sleep in the deep darkness before dawn, when no human eye can see, just to stand before God and quietly confess their sins.
    Verses 18-20: The Ultimate Witness and The Only True Way
    A cosmic courtroom assembles: God Himself testifies to His own oneness, backed by the angels and the people of knowledge, all confirming that creation runs on perfect justice. The verdict is delivered: the only true religion in God's sight is Islām—total, willful submission to Him. The People of the Book didn't fracture over ignorance but out of toxic jealousy after clear knowledge arrived. The Prophet's final marching order is to declare his own total submission, then issue the challenge to Jews, Christians, and pagans alike: "Have you submitted?" If they do, they're guided. If they walk away, his job is done—he only delivers the message. God is watching it all.
    
    Worldly wealth and desires are a fleeting illusion that will not save you from Hell, as proven by Pharaoh's destruction and the miracle of Badr, so recognize that the only true path is total submission to God, marked by a life of patient, generous, pre-dawn repentance, and once the message is delivered, your responsibility ends—God is watching all.
